Not everyone wants to hire a decorator for every job, and we understand that. Many people enjoy taking on their own projects, but sometimes a task needs a bit more confidence, technique or know‑how than a YouTube or TikTok video can offer. That’s where our hands‑on tuition comes in

​

Clarke & Filbrandt can come directly to your home or workplace to provide practical, in‑person tuition on the project you’re working on, or planning to start. Whether you’re struggling with preparation, cutting in, wallpapering, repairing surfaces or achieving a professional finish, we’ll guide you step by step and show you exactly how it’s done

There’s no substitute for learning from an experienced decorator right beside you. Our tuition is designed to give you the skills and confidence to complete your project to a high standard, with expert support

Tuition FAQs

  • Do you come to my home or workplace?

Yes - all training is delivered on site, at your location, so you learn directly on the surfaces and spaces you’re working on.​

  • Do I need to provide tools and materials?​

Yes - we teach you using your own tools and materials so you can continue the work confidently after the session. We do bring our van, so if there’s something small you’re missing, we may have it available for you to use during the training.

  • What happens if I need tools or materials during the session?​

We always recommend having everything ready before your session, but we understand that things can be missed. Here’s how we handle it:

- If we have it on the van:

You’re welcome to use it. Any consumable items (such as filler, sandpaper, caulk, tape, etc.) are simply paid for separately.

​

- If you tell us in advance:

We can collect materials before your session. This doesn’t affect your training time — you would just pay separately for the materials.

​

- If we realise something is missing on the day:

We can go and collect it for you. Because the training is prepaid, the materials are paid for separately and any time spent collecting them will come out of your booked training time.

 

We’ll always discuss the options with you so you can decide what works best.

 

  • Can you help me with a project I’ve already started?​

Absolutely. Whether you’re halfway through or stuck on a specific stage, we can step in and guide you through the next steps.

 

  • What kind of projects can you help with?

We can support you with most decorating tasks, both interior and exterior. This includes things like preparation, painting, repairs, cutting in, rolling, feature walls, woodwork, exterior masonry, and more. If you’re unsure whether your project is suitable, just get in touch to ask - we’re happy to advise.

 

  • Is this suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. We tailor the training to your skill level - from first timers, to people who already have some experience.

 

  • Will you do the work for me?

The session is designed for you to carry out the work with our guidance. We stay right beside you - advising, demonstrating techniques, correcting as needed, and stepping in whenever you need a hand

 

  • How do I book?

Simply choose your preferred package above and follow the booking link. We’ll confirm the details and arrange a time and date that suits you.
